And from Paolo:
Well Saturday, what a busy day! We played at Tower Fest in Drax and The Plough, a wine bar, in the evening.
We had a great day at The Tower Fest. There were lots of different acts on and all of them were good
My favorite song of the ones we played is”Closer then Most”, what a fabulous harmony number!
It´s an amazing thing, when John played that song to the band saying”Do you think we can do anything with this number”. When he played the intro I just knew what would fit on bass, then, when he started to sing the melody line something happened. I could hear the harmonies in my head, the true soul flowing inside, a gift from where I don´t know,,,,,I can hear then sing it.
So, on to The Plough, it´s situated in a small village near Wakefield called Warmfield. It´s a lovely wine bar with a really great landlord called Ali. I must say he was a very generous person, the first thing he did was to ask us” Do you lads want some dinner?”
Anyway on to the gig, the people were so nice. They loved our music, the songs. After the gig we were given lots of compliments, favourable statements always, makes you feel special,,, Thank You,,,, what a wonderful evening for us all at the Plough
A very special Thank You to Ali and his wife for having us..
Ta ta for now and all the best

And her is an update from Paolo about the gig at Roual British Legion:
Just a few words about the country round up gig at Royal British Legion in Reading. We felt very welcomed by the lovely people there, the made us feel very much at home. When we opened up our first spot, everyone listened to our music, and the next thing we knew, they got up and started dancing. The audience, a mixed one, had a great time.
At the end of the night they told us how much they liked our music, they praised us. Someone said that we sound a bit like the Eagles. What a compliment!!
Everyone went home totally fulfilled and happy, it was really a great night.
I would like to thank everyone that came to the gig, those who bought the CD, the organizers and everyone else that played part in the round up.
All the best Paolo on bass.

The following day we set out for Chew Valley C/C, which is situated in a small town called Greenfield. It was a lovely little town!!! Old houses and narrow streets..... that brings me to the last part of our journey there. Since none of us had never been there before we thought that it would be a good idea to use the TomTom. Little did we now,,,,, it took us though very narrow what I would calll paths with deep steeps on either side of ot.
Anyway to the gig. It was great, the guys were in top shape and so were the crowd. We all enjoyeed ourselves emensly. To soon the evening was over and it was time to pack up our gear and make our way back home. This time taking another route,,,,,
We would like to thank everyone that came to the gig, Trevor for having us and taking such good care of us, Sue and Steve Porter for coming, it was so nice too see you both again. And last but not least thanks to Hedley who came along with and helped us.
See you all soon

I just came back home from the UK. The gig at the Drax went very well. It was my first "country gig" and it was awesome, the crowd, the dancing and of course the band. It was great. the band felt the same, they enjoyed every minute of it. Qfter the gig the crowd had the opportunity to buy CDs, posters etc and to get hem signed by the band, which they did.
We would like to thank Nigel for taking such good care of us and Keith for coming with us to the gig
I also got a very special treat. John played a very early album for me, he had just had it transfered from vinul to CD. It was from 1982 amd was recorded with a number of great musicians. I liked it a lot. If it will go on line? I don´t know yet. So far there´s only one copy of it. I´ll keep you posted.
More news? Well, Jphn has six new songs written for the new album, Tony has also written a few and so does Paolo. Which will be one the new album and when it´ll be recorded is not decided yet.
I took some photos with my small digital camera as well as with the 35mm. the digital ones will be online in a few days , the others will take a bit longer.

Paolo writes about 2007 and 2008
If you want to read ore about him and what he does, visit his website at
http://www.paoloharmonicaplayer.co.uk/
My thought on the last months of 2007, well a lot has gone over this period. It really started when the band went to Nashville to record our album “Our Nashville Sunset”, which was recorded and produced by the great Scotty Moore. For those who don´t know, Scotty was Elvis first band back in the fifties (Elvis joined Scottys band).
The stay in Nashville was a fantastic time for us. We met so many people, like Roger Cooke. He has a string of hits behind him, he wrote the Coca cola add “I´d love to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony”. If I´m correct Roger Cooke is the only Englisman to be registered in the Nashville Hall of Fame. He lives down there now and seems to be very happy. I´ll tell you how i met him, we were playing at a little place called Browns Diner.
Imagine an old railway carriage taken off it´s wheels, well that´s Browns. Plonked in the middle of Nashville. So, after we finished our spot, this scruffy bloke says to me “Hey man, great bass and harmonica playing man” so i said “Cheers bud” and walked away from him. Then one of the lads said “ Did he say something to you?” so I said “ Yes, he said great this and great that” the guitar player said “ Do you know who that is?” So I said “Oh yes, local soup kitchen Waller “ It was roger Cooke having a sarni and a brew at his local cafe . I was totally wowwwed . Anyway we got talking to him and had our photos taken with the great man.
And there were others, , like Billy Cox, bass player with Jimmy Hendrix , Grant Boatright and of course Scotty Moore. What a week ! Then getting back home and supporting Smokie. Getting to know all the lads from the band and also their crew that do all the hard graft.
Yes, it was really a great time for us!!
Then, later in the year we were asked to do a gig for this guy called Aiden Delaney, he was from the country/rock scene in the UK. Then bloody hell, everybody wanted us to play their venues. It was a new direction for us, then suddenly I´ve tarted to write my own material. We´re inviting guest singers to do what we call invites on our gig nights. And, Im also doing open mike nights at the Grove pub in Leeds, and this really makes you think when you´re on your own in front of people , not to say anything silly.
So getting back to 2008. the bands looking forward to lot´s of gigs and the different music venues that are crossing our path. Look, I could go on all night so i´ll say that the rest of 2007 was very fruitful . The band are looking at other aspects for 2008,, like tours to Sweden, Norwaay and Ireland, but we´ll see.
So i´ll say, Have a very happy Christmas and good health for the new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone from
Italiano Paolo, bassplayer with Atlanta the band

John left for Nashville this morning. He´ll be spending Christmas and New Year there. He´ll be back in the UK in the beginning of January.

Update from the gig at Admiral Duncan
Well, such a surprice, the audience were all in their sixties, as we walked on to perform our first spot the band all thought the same thing, we play quiet here. So we did, then to our surpice, after the third numer they asked us to turn up because nobody could hear thos fabulous harmonies of ours. It was eally great because yet again we had an audience instead of a pub full of people talking through the spot, all heads turned towards us listening, the after each number, applause that never seemed to stop. The spirit of pure harmonies flooded over everybody at the gig. No words an explain the feelings, we the band, feel within that space of time, (pure soul).
I would just like to thank Gary and his lovely partner known as miss luches, Landlord and Landlady of Admiral Duncan. And special thanks to Martin and Siabahn, hope I´ve spelt that right (Sunday dinner with them too) and to all our fans that turned up at the gig, to many to mention as it would fill this page, and not forgetting the fabuoulos audience that inspired us to believe in the music we play.
Ho yes, one bandmember that comes to every gig snd that´s my little doggy he´s a Pomeranian 15 years old, his name is Chilli (my little darling boy) everybody want´s to cuddle him. What a nice way to end my thoughts to all, as Chillli sat in my lap snoozing. So I´ll say bye for now. Italiano Paolo, bassplayer from Atlanta the band. Chow

The New Roscoe on November the 27th
Awesome, great!! That´s some of the comments about Atlanta were heard after the gig yesterday. The guys had the time of their lives.
Tony says “It´s always good to play for such a crowd. They were very supportive”. Paolo says “It was great, fantastic. It didn´t want to go of stage”.
Aiden J Delaney and his family had come to the gig and Aiden joined them on stage and sang four numbers with them, that were very well received. Other people that came were, Judy Singelton, who by the way has taken a special liking to “Midnight Line Special” (as many of us have), Also I would like mention an extremely cheerful cowboy who goes under the name of Grumpy that made his appearance at the venue “ swinging his six guns as usual”, adding to the atmosphere of the venue. Paolos school mates from St John Boscoe, Mark, his nephew, Joe Cavalier, Marks brother in law and his family and many of Atlantas fans.
We would thank Noel and his wife for having us in such a wonderful venue as The New Roscoe. Also many thanks to John Keenan a promotional agent extra ordnaire. It´s a pleasure to work with such a nice personality
More Americana/rock concerts are being planned. I`ll post the dates on the gig list as they get booked.
This Friday, the 30th the guys will be supporting Smokie again. This time it´s in Kings Lynn, the name of the venue and the address can be found on the gig list. And for those of you that wants to read more about Smokie I´ve added a link to smokie-online.de on the Links page.

Inspite of a power break every one enjoyed the gig. Well into the second half of "Country Line Special" the power went! What did the guys do? Well they just kept on playing, as the true professionals they are. John changed to the acoustic guitar and told the crowd to come closer, which they did. After "Country Line Special " they played "Diamond of a Girl" for the cheering crowd.
Aiden stepped in and sang "Closer then most"
Thank´s for coming to see us
